#74: Planting Heaven
Two opening theme Scriptures:
I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Revelation 3:18-22 NKJV)
On this mountain, the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine – the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 25:6-8 NIV)
The human condition needs the Salvation of the Lord, but what each one of us also need is the Power of God to save. It is the desire of the Spirit of God that you come to Jesus, and be Tutored by Him in the ‘School of the Kings’. And as one truly becomes willing to humble oneself under the Lord’s Tuition, He ‘rebukes and chastens’; or otherwise said, He ‘disciplines, trains, and corrects’ that you be raised able to walk as an overcomer and all the more victorious. To such seated king on the Throne of the Son, and here the world no longer overshadowing you, but you overshadowing the world.
What is the purpose of the Sword of the Spirit, is it just to say “hey, look at my pretty sword?” Or is it to be raised and trained personally by the King to wield the Power of the Spirit of God in your hand? To bring Salvation to the lost, to heal, to set free the captives, and through intercession bring very real and personal encounters and healing touches of God to others.
Therefore, to this be first – in ALL things – the Person of Jesus. Not any other duty, obligation, need, or goal. But in this you shall operate with Him in the Power of God for all your duties, obligations, needs, and goals. Such is the Way of the Spirit, such is the Way of the Kingdom of God, and such is the Way of the Son; remaining in the seated position of the kings. First in abandonment, in full submission unto the Son; laying down one’s life in Him, only then picking it up again Anointed from on High.
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Matthew 13:44 NKJV)
To the willing, one avails themselves to be raised personally by the King. Even to sit and enjoy the meals that He Personally presents; the sharing one to another. Such is the value of ‘zealously’ seeking the Face of God. For in this repentant lifestyle, your eyes fixed firmly upon Him (John 12:26, 21:22), God raises you strong. Even for Heaven to come in behind you, responding to the words of your mouth and the works of your hands. The indifferent do not come here, for part of the meaning of the word ‘repent’ is the great desire to learn and to grow; becoming one pliable in the Hands of the Master Craftsman.
The underlying purpose of the Cross is the gained perfect access to the Father. So the word repent isn’t a focus on your sins, but an eagerness to turn to the Son as the central most drive of your soul. And here stepping through the Door unto the Father of Heavenly Delights. A turning of your heart unto the Lord of Glory, allowing Him to fashion you victorious as an overcomer (Is. 41:15). Perfection cannot be attained in your own hands, nor by the hands of others, but in the Hands of He of whom you earnestly seek. So then, in holiness it becomes more commonplace for you to see the Lord (Heb. 12:14).
Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His Face continually. (1 Chronicles 16:11, Psalm 105:4 NKJV)
‘Seek the Face of God’ is a widely used phrase in Scripture. However, though in a couple of places it does say that “no man can see the Face of God and live” (Ex. 33:20, 1 John 4:12), that a human being is not physically able to survive the intensity of the Glory of the Face of God. But the truth is that the believer isn’t human but is a New Creation in Christ Jesus. And in Him, then, given perfect access to the Father through the shed Blood.
So if your Lord and Saviour stood in the Presence of the Person of God (John 1:18), you also, then, have perfect rights of the very same access. Hence the need of our hearts to be discipled by Him, for we are called to live as He in this world, even in His very Image and His very Likeness (Rom. 8:29, 2 Cor. 3:18). Such is the Word of the Lord.
If in the Old Testament Moses was able to sit face to Face with God, as a friend (Ex. 33:11), does not the New Covenant avail you of a far greater opportunity (Luke 7:28)? And as we have a mandate to do just the same as Christ Jesus, even to do greater things than He (John 14:12), each one of us then have the same need to be rooted the same. Such is the work of the Spirit of God and the Tutoring of the Son.
In saying all this, you may not be able to see the Face of God, in His full Glory, but limit not yourself to the possibilities of where God, Himself, desires to take you. To zealously repent, to turn your heart unto the Lord, you avail yourself to Him; you a friend of God. Stop for a moment and think, if you became one who regularly sees the Face of God, what sort of person would you become?
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. (Isaiah 12:3 NIV)
Salvation is in the Person of Jesus: and to all who are saved have equal, full, and perfect access to the Wells of Salvation. By choice and by rights ability to delve deeper into the depths of the Lord, and draw out from the richness of His Salvation for you and your world. Sometimes this drawing is required just to survive each day, but the Heart of the Father is to raise you able to hold the very Resurrection Power and the Life of God in your hands (Matt. 16:19, John 20:21-23). Salvation isn’t just a ticket to Heaven for when you die, but it is the Power to save! The Power to carry Life with you and the ability to save people from very real issues that are faced. Such is the way of the Anointed.
In reference to Matthew 13:11-12:
It has been given you ability to know the Mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, and “the more that you have”, simply then, “the more that your are given”. Such, then, is the power of praise; the honoured place in your heart of centred affection unto the Lord. For though hardship may come from the Enemy, or from the ‘chastising’ of the Lord, praise magnifies the Father in your eyes, stepping you through, and this irrespective of what is before you.
Such is the answer for all that we face, for the underlying Purpose of the Father is that you ‘remain’ and ‘abide’ in Him; deeply unified in connected. For Life is only found in Him. Praise unifies your heart and soul in the Heart of the Father. Therefore, praise is the most powerful force in the universe, for the Lord of Glory steps in through this open door of affection, right into the realities you face. Such is the wonder found in the earnest seeking of the Face of God – even through a ‘zealous repentant’ heart. For this ‘magnifying’ of the Lord, before your eyes, avails you ability to draw Him into all the cares.
Have you never read, “out of the mouth of babes and infants you have perfected praise?” (Matthew 21:16 NKJV)
Oh, the power of the praise filled heart!
A few Scriptures on praise:
Let the people praise you, O God; let all the people praise you. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. (Psalm 67:5-6 NKJV)
But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. (Psalms 22:3 NKJV)
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (Psalm 100:4 NKJV)
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. (Psalm 84:2 NIV)
The blessings of God come upon a people who hold praise as the root drive of their heart, and this regardless of what comes against or the season that you are in. A hedge (Job 1:10) and angelic protection (Ps. 91:12), and even the very earth itself commanded to yield its increase to such as these (Ps. 67:6). Through thankfulness of heart one enters the Gates of the Lord, and even with praise entering the very Courts of the Gardens of Heavenly Delights.
There are the legal Courts of God, but we are not called to live only in a state of war and legal battles (Ps. 82:1). For as King David referred, enter the Courts of Beauty and Rest (Ps. 84, Ps. 92:12-14, Heb. 4:3, Is. 28:12-13) and here you shall be continually revived, built up, and ‘flourish’. Not only so, but the Lord Himself fights for you (Ex. 14:14)! I tell you that the Favour and Prosperity of the Lord is upon you; entering into the Garden of Paradise, even Eden that was planted on earth in the Beginning. Though there be great storms and needs, it is from this reclining, this ‘Place of Repose’ (Is. 28:12-13), that you will rise up and speak with a word from within the Courts of God (Mark 4:35-41).
It is most intriguing when the Lord would say, “oh you of little faith” (Matt. 8:23). It is one of the most profound statements in the Word of God, for it points always to the ‘more’ that God has for each one of us. Understand then, that Jesus does not rebuke or ‘chastise’ you for something that is outside of your reach. Faith is what you have availed yourself of the moment that you ‘zealously’ set your heart in the Father, the Living Word of God speaking into your soul. Faith has its roots in the heart chatter, the Lord speaking continually within your soul (Jer. 23:9). You can try to do the work of God in your flesh, from an earthly footing, or as called: do the work through the Spirit; from a footing from within the Paradise of God.
Why was it that the storm couldn’t even wake Jesus? For He must have been so out of it. I’d like to suggest that He was elsewhere. Many of us do not take the time to enter this ‘Place of Repose’, that is why we don’t see the dead raised, the sick healed, or the Power of God evident before the eyes of all. I tell you it is God’s Desire to heal, and it is the Dream of the Father to bring the reality of Heaven to earth, but it is through the Power of the Spirit of God so there is a right way going about it.
The Spirit of God is restricted in His ability to save the nations, even to Honour that Name of Jesus; for as the believer is the Gateway, holding the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, they don’t open their heart to receive. The Path of the Anointed is the ability to receive (Luke 12:37). Therefore, be greatly encouraged, though the spirit of religion is like a wall, trying to stop you from entering into these things (Luke 11:52, Matt. 23:13), truly “seek the LORD and His strength; seeking His Face continually”; for to such have enrolled themselves in the School of the Victorious, even the School of Power and Grace. Where even the ‘chastising’ of the Lord becomes a joy (Jam. 1:2), for you know where the Lord desires to take you.
Therefore, set your vision unto the Tree of Life. And though the forest can come around you at times and you may get lost, turn your heart unto the Lord and come step into the open Fields of His Delight and eat richly of the Fruit of His Delight.
A few Scriptures about prosperity:
For this is what the LORD says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees. (Isaiah 66:12 NIV)
Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (Isaiah 60:5 NIV)
Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night, so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations – their kings led in triumphal procession. (Isaiah 60:11 NIV)
A vision increased, even elevated up higher, in itself gives you great hope and energy of anticipation. But in the case of God, Heaven itself simply comes around you and surrounds you all the more.
There is nothing better than having your hope renewed, even lifted up in the Lord: your vision elevated, your heart freed, your faith ignited, and the Joy of the Lord alighting afresh in your soul. Such is the Joy found in the Hope given you of the Lord, for it takes you right behind the Curtain, allowing you to abide and function from this Place (Heb. 6:19). Therefore, let the Joy of the Lord ‘rule your heart’ (Col. 3:15), let it be your central most vision; retaining it that His ‘complete’ Joy may abide in your soul (John 15:11). Through the Door, which is Christ Jesus, you have gained incredible capacity to eat of the Pastures of Heaven, and here you can go in and out just as you please. For one who goes in comes out with something truly of most value.
In reference to Jeremiah 23:9:
Lord I am like a drunken man, like a man overcome by wine, because of your holy words that speak continually in my soul.
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (John 10:9 NKJV)
To the saved, one has wonderful capacity to draw deeply of the Wells of Salvation. One who has opened the door of their life unto the Lord, has the opportunity to open the door unto the Son each and throughout every day; with red carpet laid out in deep endearing honour. If you have tasted that the Lord is good, then go for the Rivers of the Goodness of God. And as the Joy of the Lord entered your soul, the moment that you first received Him, now in the Son is the continual opportunity to eat richly of this very same Joy each and every day. Such is the power of the secret place, such is the power found in a ‘zealous repentant’ lifestyle; the earnest turning aside and seeking the Face of God … standing in the Presence of the Lord.
(He) has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (Revelation 1:6 NKJV)
You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:9-10 NKJV)
The Kingdom of Heaven is right at hand, it is only as far away as your own affections. Your own purposed turning of your heart.
Through the Son you have the capacity to fully lay down your life in Him, only then to pick it up again holding the Resurrection Power and Life in your hands. Such is the wonder and mystery found in praise; the power of honouring God more than the needs before you. For we are called to step through our cares and bow to the Son; and it is He, then, that will dress you in Glory and take care of your cares (Matt. 6:25-34). Such is the good found in releasing and letting go of your life, only then truly finding it … a truly abundant Life. Abandoning your life in Christ Jesus only then to have Life raining upon you. This is the Way of the Kingdom of God, the seed dying only then producing many seeds. The laying down of your life only to find it, only for Life to truly be opened up before your eyes.
Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. (John 4:14 NIV)
The Purpose of the Son is to become one raised and Tutored by Him to live an overcomer; one victorious and triumphant. Even for the Goodness of God to flow like Rivers from your life. The world no longer overshadowing you but you overshadowing the world! Such is the Power found in the Secret Place; the daily choice to honestly seek the Lord regardless of how you feel. Such also is the path of the miraculous; praising the Lord even right in the face of Satan (or his works). It is here that from within you that ‘springs of water well up to eternal life’. So it can be said, “death where is your sting” (1 Cor. 15:55).
Position yourself one raised and instructed whereby the very words of your mouth carry great weight and even great spiritual Authority. Such is the Heart of the Father. And whereby even the very ground of which you step is heavily influenced by the Anointing that rests upon your life. Such is the Way of the Spirit of God.
God desires to remove the ‘shroud’, the blockages and the restrictions, but you have to be deeply willing as well. For there is the spiritual shroud over all man, and then there is the shroud that is over your own heart and soul, over your own eyes and over your own ears. These take both the Hand of the Lord and the willing heart. The student must humble himself under the Master Swordsman; Jesus of whom Himself held the Sword of the Spirit with such Mastery and Power. What is it that you want? Do you want to live like mere mortals where the ground itself doesn’t even remember your name? Or do you not wish to respond to the Lord’s Invitation and Gift, even the Destiny that is laid before you?
What one needs is the way clear and wide for deep and liberal interaction and transference from Heaven. It is in the Secret Place, behind closed doors, that the willing abide. For in this waiting upon the Lord, the Lord Himself responds and comes. To the ‘zealous repentant’ heart is the Lord able to instruct, even one softened by the Presence of God. For the rocky, brittle ground is useless for the making of pottery. Such is the willing heart, the one kindled to receive, they become clay so smooth and pliable, a joy to the Potter’s touch; a delight in His own eyes. And here He sets to work moulding and shaping a masterpiece of perfection, to be set in such High Honour. Even to behold and carry the very Glory of God.
To the cup that is full, what is it that you can add, to the proud what can you teach? But to the deeply willing God expands your capacity to receive. The Lord desires that the Heavens be open wide for you, but this too needs to become your dream as well. So as you reach up to Him, He steps through the open door. Such is the Word of the Lord.
To the willing: God rebuilds the Ancient gates and re-establish the aqueducts of the Waters of Life.
With your heart open wide to the Lord, you simply become one postured to receive. Over good food and aged wine speaking freely with your Lord, even about the realities of your life. But here also, the Lord speaks of the Life of God and the Ways of the Spirit, and shows you ‘Heavenly things’ (John 3:12). Here you truly are strengthened and built up, rested and revived, as He shares with you the Secret Thoughts, the Hidden Ways, and the Heart of the Father. Rich stores in your soul of the reality of God made clear. And as you turn aside and spend time daily in Him (Matthew 6:11), out of simple love, respect and honour, the veil is taken away. The ‘shroud’ that has covered your eyes, even for countless generations, is removed and the power of death destroyed (Is. 25:8, 1 Cor. 15:26).
Your Heavenly Father has expressed His Dream, through the sending of His Son, to raise and groom you for Royalty (1 Pet. 2:9). We each have such a rich inheritance in the Lord, of which no imagination can truly grasp. “No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man all that God has prepared and made ready for you” (1 Cor. 2:9). Mankind is just like the homeless orphan that has not a clue of their rich Estate. But if you can just take the time and turn your heart unto your King, He will meet with you and place ‘salve’ on your eyes so that you can see and understand. Each day opening your eyes to the More, whereby you may walk in your inheritance today.
‘The key is in the turning’.
Through the Blood and the work of the Cross, you have undeniable and absolutely perfect access to the Father. This regardless of your deeds, your errors, your failures, or the current brokenness of your life. But the key is in the turning – that is what opens doors. It is the food that you need for your soul, the very Person of Jesus coming in and sitting with you again this day, that builds you up.
Again, what is praise but the turning and opening up of your heart, even posturing yourself to receive. Affection unto the Lord is within itself the elevating of Him before all that is before your eyes. But what really happens is that you are elevated up in Him. God doesn’t need your praise … you need it! Praise is a transport system, the heart of deep affection before your God. Since God is Love, and as you set your affections in Him today, even right now, you are elevated and lifted up in Him.
Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm. (2 Kings 4:34 NIV)
If I told you to go place your hand on the open wounds of a leper, in accordance to the Word of the Lord, would I be unreasonable? If I told you to go into a room where fifty people lie dying of some kind of infectious decease, and lay mouth to mouth, hand to hand, body to body and breath Life into their bodies, would you do that? In reflection of this, do you then realise that though the Word of God speaks clearly about a thing, that it takes the Spirit of God to make the Word ‘flesh’ in you (John 1:14)? Faith and confidence is given you of the Lord, this is the Mystery revelaed in the secret place; the manifest Person of Jesus sitting in Delight with you … even God appearing before your eyes.
Praise is a weapon, for it opens one up to the physical Salvation of the Lord. Praise is a transport system that enters you right into the Heart and Presence of the Father. Praise, the heart of affection, causes even the very earth to yield her increase to you. And praise comes against the work of the Enemy. For as the Lord is elevated before your eyes, you now have truly seated Him on the throne of your life. And the God of the Angel-Armies releases them to save … and this even through the words of your own mouth.
Your anointing, the anointing upon your life, and your ability to hear the Word of God is dependant on your spirit abiding in the Father. A person’s spirit can be anywhere, for ‘where your treasure is so too is where your heart is also’. So if you can truly come as a little child, so too is your spirit (Matt. 18:10) continually before the Throne of God.
I said, ‘you are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High. (Psalm 82:6 NIV)
Let this Scripture ripple through your soul. Do you realise that when Jesus referred to this obscure Scripture (John 10:34), that He brought it into focus for each one of us who are in Him? The believer has unfathomable capacity of growth in the Lord, being shaped and formed into His very Image, from Glory to Glory. This of which has no limit! Truly you are the Treasured Planting of the Lord (Is. 61:3)
What is the value of fasting? In itself nothing. What it is, however, as one truly desires to seek the Lord, prayer and fasting is a firm humbling and focussing of your soul, a magnifying of the Lord before your eyes. It is a laying down of the demands and desires of the flesh and elevating the desires of the Spirit. Simply the more that one sets their heart unto the Lord, they are themselves postured to receive; laying the very path.
In the olden days they didn’t have matches, they had hot coals. So as you gather kindling for the Fire, the hot coals (the burning heart) ignite the Fire. The size of Fire doesn’t matter, the value is that you have it. So even in your small beginning, if you can earnestly seek the Presence of God, He will come. And the Flame of the Fire of God can become as big as you desire it to … even consuming nations. Such is the value of prayer and fasting, the kindling of your soul.
Bless you …
Pray this prayer with me. ‘Lord bless you, what a wondrous Salvation you have gifted us. Please keep opening my eyes all the more. Lord, I earnestly and zealously repent this day, even firmly setting my heart unto the Lord. Looking through all the cares of this life unto the open Fields of the Lord. Lord I open the door of my heart this day, please step in that we may dine together. I am so greatly honoured that you desire to sit with me, to have the ‘Lord of my Lord’ with me (Ps. 110:1). Please continue to Instruct my soul and raise me in the Ways of God. Bless you, amen’.
