Day #30: Spirit Bears Witness
“Intimacy in the Love of God”
What can be sought for is intimacy in the Lord, for Christ Jesus has made this possible for all who believe. It is through intimacy, the closest relationship that the Father makes Himself known to you. And through this ‘knowing’, He imparts of Himself, He Gifts and bears His Fruits abundantly upon you.
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship (in His intimate Presence) with the Father, has made him known. (John
Allow and make place for the Love of God to rest upon you. Through the Blood shed for you, Jesus has made it possible for you to abide in the Love of God. As the Father Loves the Son, Jesus Loves you and gave His life so that you may participate in this same precious reality and most wonderful gift: the “closest relationship”, the “intimacy of His Presence”, the “abiding in His Love” (John 15). The Love of God is the root of the Christian soul, it is not in word alone, but tangible and most active.
The wonder that as a little child you can enter into the deepest of intimacy and closeness with the Lord God Almighty. Being drawn ever closer in Him even by His own Hand; it is truly amazing (Is. 41:13). You, therefore, can choose to abide in His Love and truly remain; as a believer this Gift has been extended you. And in abiding in His Love and His Living Word abiding in you, “you may ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.” “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” The same Life and Love of God that flowed up in the Son as He walked the earth, also now flows through into you as you choose to daily “abide in His Love” (John 15:9).
A most precious gift that you have is your ability to whistle a tune in front of Adversity and praise the precious Name of Jesus.
Don’t allow anything to “hinder your prayers.” Lay all cares at the feet of Jesus, ALL cares and hopes so that nothing hinders your prayers. Live no longer under the spirit of envy or lust, nor the spirit of anxiety or fear, cast aside the spirit of doubt and unbelief. Decisively choose to ‘anxiously’ pursue the deepest of tenderness, the deepest of intimacy that is available in the Lord your God. And together with Him, the Holy Spirit will establish this intimacy in order for you to live life free and full in the Anointing of the Spirit and Power. This Seed that has been given you, this Gift extended you, just become as a little child (Matt. 18:2-5) and enjoy opening it up! Be as the ‘one’ or the ‘three’ and seek and pursue the intimacy found in the Love of God, that you may participate with Jesus in the raising of the dead!
The Love of God resting upon your life is the single right foundation and basis. Not unto law, works or flesh, but unto Grace and Mercy; the Love and Might of God.
Allow this opportunity of intimacy that has been freely extended you to abide in you. These things that we read of in Scripture, take possession of them. Allow “my Words to abide in you” (John 15:7). Don’t allow the Word of God to just remain on the table in pages of the Bible, but the reality of them to enter into your soul and remain. Allow them to take deep root, the Living Word to be who you are not only what you read or have memorised. Jesus made the Father known because of the intimacy, the “closest of relationship” He had (has) in the Father, as He walked the earth. And the Father manifested through Him with signs and wonders and in the fullness of Himself.
This picture is the same for you and I, painted clearly in Scripture that we can all walk in it. You have the same opportunity as the Son of God, of the deepest of intimacy in the Father and this by the Blood Jesus shed for you. So do not allow the Word of God that is in front of you, that is in your own hands, to stay just there or fall to the ground. Allow the meaning, intention and purpose of it to penetrate your soul, and become instinctually part of you. Fully who you are, for Jesus and the Word are one (John 1:1).
Intimacy does not come automatically but is pursued, sought after and built. A legal relationship with the Lord you have, yes, this you gained at salvation. However, the gift of intimacy in the Holy Ghost has been presented you here and now, but it is up to you to come and drink of these Waters. Jesus has given you full right to drink of this River, but as you know you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. No one can do this for you, but you. You choose then, to daily take this decisive step.
Here and now I have led you to these Waters, allow this wonder to be developed in you and do not hold back. For the Father has withheld NOTHING from you, not even His Son. And the Son has not withheld ANYTHING from you, not even His own life. If you came to realise even in an inkling the intimacy, the Love, and the closest of relationship that the Father longs to have with you, and what this leads to, you would weep with the deepest of tears. No longer allow the Thief, the Liar (John 8:44) to belittle and steal this from you. Neither allow the Scoffing spirit, resident in others, to quench your fire. But give full place for the Fire of God and the wonders of the Kingdom to be opened up to you … in Jesus most precious Name!
Do not let your prayers be hindered. It is up to you to manage what you allow in between you and Jesus. The Evil One continually endeavours to bring of himself between you and Jesus, with the impressions of his foul emotions, lures, or condemnation; as he tries to come stand next to you. Even sin, pride, religion and forms of hatred. You have one Teacher and that is Jesus; not circumstances, nor issues, depression or oppression – but Jesus. Allow Jesus to be your Teacher as you walk with Him. It is the Antichrist of whom always is at work to come ‘in place’ of Jesus or act contrary to Him. But let nothing hinder your prayers. You have the opportunity to go directly to the Father as Jesus Himself, and this by the Mercies of the Blood and the Cross. Jesus is your One Teacher, follow and pursue Him alone (John 21:22).
If people come with a genuine love and in encouragement point to Jesus, then take their encouragement and enjoy it. But be careful, you do not have to wear the words of all those who come ‘in the Name of Jesus’. There are those of whom approach you out of criticism and judgement, pointing even to their knowledge of God and to their righteous deeds. Be very cautious, be “shrewd as a snake but gentle as a dove” (Matt. 10:16). It is the Holy Spirit in Person, in His Love and Grace, that leads you by your hand and bears Witness of our Resurrected King alive in you. Not knowledge alone, rules or regulations, but the tangible manifest realities of the Love and Might of God resting upon your life. Allow your prayers to be unhindered and be fully released before your Papa who is in Heaven, and He will bear Witness through you.
God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? (Heb. 2:4 NKJV)
There are people in our current generation that the Lord is doing amazing works through; building churches in the most hostile places, healing the sick and raising the dead. Though I deeply respect and honour them, they are not the Christ. I deeply honour the work that the Father is doing through them and wish even to do as they, but I don’t know how. One thing I do know is that the same Word of God is presented me, the same Gifts are set before me, and I am born of the same Blood and of the same Spirit. The answer is not to emulate them but Jesus of whom they are pointing to. It is through relationship, my own intimate relationship with Jesus, that makes this possible. It is the Father of whom has raised them up and it is He who also desires to raise and prepare both you and I.
We are not under flesh but the Spirit, it is the Spirit that raises us as we allow Him each day. Emulating others is not the calling of the Gospel, emulating and becoming as Christ Jesus is. For He alone is the “Light of the world” (John 8:12, 14). I know the same path is available for the Father to do great works through me as they, but I am not the same as them. It is the Lord of whom has raised them, and in just the same way it is the Lord of whom is raising both you and I in the Love, the Might, and the Glory of the Lord. In Isaiah 41:15 God says, “Behold, I will make you to be a new, sharp, threshing instrument which has teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and beat them small, and shall make the hills like chaff.”
No one can make you or I a sharp instrument, but the Lord. I will not be discouraged, Jesus alone is my Instructor not the following or emulating of others. If people, however, in the Love of God are pointing to Jesus, I gladly listen to them, I gladly come sit next to them. For it is only in Jesus that one can truly be encouraged, strengthened and lifted up. He is my Teacher and Friend and the one who died for me. The Holy Spirit is my Counsellor and my Gift given, and the Father my Gardener and the Sculptor of my soul (Matt. 23:8-10). It is they of whom we seek, that raise and shape you and I to behold and carry the ever increasing Glory, Purposes, Honour of the Kingdom of God.
The Love of God is more than emotions, the Voice of God much more than words; it is the manifest Love, the tangible Presence, and the active Counsel of the Lord. The Words that “proceed from the mouth of God” are the continual Instruction, the Knowledge, the Glory, and the Might of God resting upon your life. This ‘anointing’ is part of the value of earnestly waiting upon the Lord. A lifestyle of prayer and fasting, humbling yourself before the Lord your God, brings a deep and continual tenderness in Him. A kindling of soul, a knitting of heart to the Heart of the Father. What we need is the Voice of God flowing like a river in our soul, being fully united and made one in the Branch. The Words that proceed from the mouth of God, this Love of God that wells up like a Spring, is so invaluable to each one of us and to the world of which we live.
Being rooted and securely founded deep in the Love of God. (Eph. 3:14-19)
Pray this prayer with me. ‘Lord, I never realised that it is possible to have such a close relationship with you. Such a personal and endearing relationship and the wonder of it. Heavenly Father, I realise that this depth of relationship is central to the Gospel, that Jesus was crucified that I too can live united in the Lord as He. Lord, I pray that you lead me close, even tender in the Lord, that I may know you as Jesus knew you. And through this closest of relationship that you can make yourself known through me to the blessing of the world around me and the honour of the Father. In Jesus Name. Amen’.
