Day #12: Temple of God
“The Cleft of the Rock”

Man is not designed to live outside the Love of God, but to abide in the fullness of Him; in His Love. Before the Fall of man, Adam dwelled in the Love of God and drew continuously from His Goodness, living under His protection, guidance, and healing Presence. But in the end, he chose to listen to the voice of the Evil One over that of the Father’s to the ruin of us all. However, now in Christ, we can choose to draw from the fullness of God, as was per prior to the Fall. For as believers we are no longer ancestrally linked to Adam but can decisively choose to shift our ways unto the ‘new Adam’, that is Christ Jesus (1 Cor. 15:45).

Two Scriptures:
1. The LORD said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.” (Ex. 33:20-23)
2. Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. (I Kings 19:11-12)

Abiding in the Love of God is the ‘Cleft of the Rock’ for you today. It is the place of the ‘covering’ of the Lord (Ps. 91:1) and where you can carry an increasing measure of the Glory of God upon your life (2 Cor. 3:18). Abide in the Love of God … Rest in the Love of God … be secure in the Love of God … and draw from the Love of God. The Love of God IS the fullness of Him. You are able to go to Him with your love and draw from His Love at all times (ie; the fullness of Him). As Jesus expressed His full love by gladly laying down His life for you (Heb. 12:2), learn to fully lay down your life in Him allows you to fully bond in Him , and fully access the heavenly realms. The more complete that you lay down your life (Luke 17:33), the more ‘naked’ you are before the Lord, the more then that the Father is free to actively participate in your life; right here and now.

In the previous chapter, I endeavoured to express a practical picture of approaching the Father in deeper ways. To live in continual experience of being ‘clothed’ and adorned in the Presence of the Lord, as He shows you His Salvation (Ps. 91:16). Being ‘dressed’ in the full Armour of God (Eph. 6:10-18) by His own Hand to do life well; your family life, your work life, and your ministry life. Not of your flesh at all, but free and full of the Spirit of God; in His Wisdom and Understanding, His Counsel and Might. Bearing in likeness (1 Cor. 15:49) the Branch of whom you choose to reside; being joined and made one in Him (John 17:21 KJV).

Scripture:
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:1-2 NKJV)

In the old way, people travelled for days to visit the Temple of God, to enter His Presence (except the Holy of Holies). This is a similar path for us but in a spiritual form. In going‐aside ‘physically’ (previous chapter); this paves the way for a deepening communion in the Lord as you go about regular daily life. A communion that allows you to draw so freely from Him, turning your heart consciousness towards Him, and in an instant experiencing His Presence and Anointing upon your life, even from right in the midst of chaos (storms). Your spirit-man being in continual communication in the Lord at the same time that your mouth is communicating with a person of whom is right in front of you.

It is your ‘first love’ (Rev. 2:1-5) that truly allows you to bond with the Love of God, and this is found and developed in the quiet place. The Father’s Love is powerful! … of yourself you can do nothing … BUT … nothing is impossible for God! Be encouraged … your love is a very precious and sacred thing, destined for your loved ones and even for the care of your own life. However, the Father, who is Love, is humbly asking you to trust Him with your first love. To give all your love fully over to Him that you might be free to fully be able to participate and fully access the Heavenly Glory and supply. As His consciousness is fully fixed and intent upon you (Gen. 15:1), you are setting yourself fully in Him. Truly two worlds, two realms, physically joining.

There is a very still Voice, a gentle guiding Voice that you can go seek in the quiet place. This ‘Voice’ however becomes ‘louder’ and builds you up stronger as you earnestly seek the Lord in ‘spirit’ (John 4:24), from the secret place of your soul. He dresses you in His very Presence, in the ministering of His quiet Voice, but with a strong Hand. His Voice is deeply worth waiting for (Satan’s voice on the other hand is loud, oppressive, lustful and destructive).

So as in the ‘physical’ pilgrimage story of approaching the Temple of God, it also becomes a ‘spiritual’ story of approaching the Father, of whom has placed His Temple within you. The portal of two realms joining, this world dimension joining with Heaven world dimension. As you ‘train’ your flesh to go aside in the Lord: and this regardless of the happenings of life presented you. This regardless of your current success or failure in ministry, and this regardless of the issues of life presented to you each day. You can develop a deepening ease of going into the Heavenly realms, the Secret Place of the Lord, and draw from Him whatever you want; whatever you need, wherever you are, and at any time. The Love of God is the ‘Cleft of the Rock’ where He shows you His Glory; His Glory that heals, builds up and protects. In tenderness unto the Lord (as a little child) bringing His Hand to bear in whatever you face.

Finishing Scriptures:
1. The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. The glory of the LORD shall be revealed. (Is. 40:3, 5 NKJV)
2. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Matt. 3:11 NKJV)
3. I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! (Luke 12:49 NKJV)
4. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. (Acts 2:3 NKJV)
5. He … who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: “I know your works … Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. (Rev. 2:1-5)

Through your first love is how your churches’ Lampstand is placed in the realm of where Jesus walks, the place where the Spirit moves. His Love is powerful! Be encouraged: Jesus yearns to personally walk among you and your congregation, however, He is deeply drawn to the ‘first love’ of His people. Choose then, to make greater place for the Love of God to come upon you, this choice is within your own hands. The more that you bond and abide in His Love, the more that He bursts forth from your life. Even for Jesus to walk physically among you, and the Spirit of God manifest, being outpoured within your midst.

Pray this prayer with me. ‘Lord, I choose to go into the Cleft of the Rock, into the covering of the Lord. Here I desire to abide. I recognise that of my flesh I am nothing, but of the Spirit you have made me something. Lord, I wish to enter deeper into the things of the Spirit, Lord, even into the deepest place of the Father. To live my life continually hearing your still small Voice, recognising the Voice that brings me deeper unto Life. In Jesus Name. Amen’.
