Day #9: Freedom in Christ
“The Deaf Dancer”

In the Kingdom believing is possessing, what you read in the Word is yours. But you need the Spirit’s help in order to possess the Word. Just reading and studying the Word alone is not enough. If the Spirit of God does not dominate your heart you cannot do what the Word says, you cannot possess it, nor can it blossom in your life as intended. However, the Spirit and the Word are to work together in your life (John 4:24). Reverence to God’s Word is crucial, for the Spirit will be released to the degree that you yourself stand in reverence of His Word. However, to walk freely in signs and wonders (Heb. 2:4) one needs to be grounded and rooted in both the Spirit and the Word of God.

You cannot emulate love, and in the same way you cannot emulate faith, they are both issues of the heart. In order to tap into God, into the Trinity residing within, this is done through your heart personally turned and set upon the Love of God. Possessing the Word of God is an issue of the heart, the Word of God given rightful place in your heart ‘activates’ the Trinity of God dwelling in you. The ‘in faith’ statement that a believer confesses becomes a deeply tangible manifest reality! Emulating others fails you, and doing only what other Christians do, or simply following Christian culture, leads you only a very minor distance forward, if anything at all.

20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things … 24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father … 27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, remain in Him. (I John 2:20, 24, 27)

Imagine someone who is deaf observing a dancer who is moving to the sound of music. The deaf person becoming inspired gets up and endeavours to emulate the moves that he sees, but he cannot hear the music. Regardless of his natural talent, something is truly missing right? Yep, he can’t hear!

The Lord desires to give ears that ‘hear’ and eyes that ‘see’ all the more (Matt. 11:15). What is valuable is hearing the Voice of God, developing an ever increasing sensitivity to His Spirit of whom by nature imparts. The ‘hearing’ is developed as you begin to live free in the Holy Ghost, as you begin to take full possession of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Practicing to go aside and wait upon the Lord, and from abiding within His Courts (Ps. 23:1-3, Ps. 100:4) the Lord provides an ever-deepening sensitivity and awareness of the Voice of God.

Sensitive ears come from going into the Secret Place (Ps. 91:1), the intimate places of the Lord. Here the Spirit of the Lord lifts you up as you wait upon the Lord. With a heart of gratitude and praise, meditating on His Word, and personally reaching out to Him from deep within your soul, He shares and imparts of Himself; Living brick by Living brick. Therefore when you come to dance you dance to the intricacy of the music through ears that can ‘hear’ in your soul. Through ears that hear, and eyes that see, and not ‘deafly’ in emulation of others … lest you fall into a ditch that neither of you can see (Matt. 15:7-9, 14, John 21:22).

Turn your heart, your heart’s awareness and ‘consciousness’ towards the Presence of God, and it will be He who raises you exponentially in His Word. In meeting with the Author, He teaches revealing to you both speak-able and unspeakable things (John 3:12). Hidden things, since the beginning of time (Matt. 13:35, Col. 1:26, 1 Cor. 2:7), the unsearchable and Eternal Mysteries of God (Eph. 3:8, Rom. 11:33). And it is through the rising up of the Spirit, the deep groaning of the Holy Ghost (Rom. 8:26-27), that causes you to draw ever and continually deeper, into the heart and ministering Grace of the Lord. Standing, therefore, under the continual flow of the Revelation of God.

Do you think you are operating in the fullness of God? I tell you what, the greatest that both you and I can imagine together, is but the faintest trickle compared to what the Lord desires to share with you, to do in you, and move through you. Be greatly encouraged …

Learn to separate the ‘voices’: the Voice of God, and the voice of Satan. The Voice of reason is your own constructed thought process. The Voice of the Lord is founded in the immeasurable Love and Life of God. And the Voice of Satan is inherently lustful, prideful, hateful, and accusative; for Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy. Just because a thought appears spontaneously in your mind, it is not necessarily from you; but either from the giver of Life or from the one that wishes to trap you unto Death.

Avoid discarding a brother: be so very cautious when you speak ill of someone of whom Christ died for, for in this you can firmly restrict and deny the flow of the Holy Ghost in your own life and ministry (Matt. 7:1-2, Luke 6:37-38, Mark 4:23-25). If you in your great righteousness, you honestly feel that with the wave of your hand, you can operate so short of the Grace of Christ Jesus, how do you ever think that the Wonders of God will ever be seen by your own hands? Or how will you ever come to abide under the flow of the Revelation of Heaven? Even though you are one with great knowledge, what you know is less than a drop of water compared to the vastness of the open oceans of God. Therefore, learn to truly humble yourself in the Lord, so that you can receive.

Religious ‘righteousness’ and pride grieves the Spirit of God and causes Him to remain at a distance. The same uncompassionate statements falls on those around you of whom the Grace of Christ is at work. The words of disdain, even from the mouths of leaders, gradually drive people out of the church. Christ died for them and the Spirit yearns to embrace and heal them. But right from within the Presence of God, believers break the Father’s Heart as the Cross and the Blood of His Son are trampled underfoot. Realise this: angels do not condemn, Jesus does not condemn, why then do you? Truly, what Spirit are you of?

Sometimes it is more constructive just to keep your mouth closed. For from the tongue, words can spread as a destructive fire burning up all that you are striving to achieve (Jam. 3:6, 1 Cor. 3:15). A believer can honour the Father with one hand but deeply dishonour Him with the other. As the saying goes, “go preach the Gospel and if necessary, use words.” The actions that we preach can run severely contrary to our confession.

The ‘mind poo’ of your thought life defiles you (Matt. 15:18). It “must be holy (Heb. 12:14), so that He will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you” (Deut. 23:13‐14). As you go about your life and ministry it is the heart of the Father to protect you in every way (Ps. 121:5-8). But the things that you tolerate in your thought life defile you (Matt. 15:16-20).

Come deeply welcome the sanctifying nature of the Presence of God. Humble yourself and in regular prayer and fasting seeking the Face of God, allowing Him to draw you very close. The Father desires to raise you and teach you Himself, for as the Scriptures say … “they will all be taught by God” (Is. 54:13 NKJV). He sanctifies you and instructs your soul by His very Grace and continual Presence.

Pray this prayer with me. ‘Lord, please help me take possession of the Word of God. Lord, I believe in your Word, I receive the Gospel to heart. Please forgive me for my inability to walk in the fullness of it, but please make me capable. Lord, I invite you to sow your Word into my soul to make it who I am. Please impart yourself in me, of myself I cannot do this, I know this is true. Lord, I long for the Word that proceeds from the mouth of God to fill my soul. This I hunger for, please open my eyes and my ears to receive. In Jesus Name. Amen’.
