Day #8: Freedom in Christ
“Jesus’ Life”

A question to ask; in the life of Jesus was the Presence and Person of God a remote and an intangible reality for Him, as He ministered in the world? Of course, it was highly tangible, continually active and dynamic. He lived acutely aware of the Presence of our Father at work in His life, and He saw Him and heard His Voice all the moments of His Life. Only at the time when the sin of the world was placed upon Him and He cried out to the Father, ‘why have you forsaken me’? It was only at this time that His awareness of His Father’s Presence was absent.

Jesus lived in a continual awareness, dialogue, and communion with the Father. And because of what He HAS achieved for you on the Cross, you too are fully capable of just the same; as little babes in Christ (Matt. 18:3). The same Seed has been placed within you to grow into full maturity. For you are of the same Root, the same Stump of Jesse (Is. 11:1-10), the same Vine (John 15), of the same Spirit, and born of the same Kingdom.

The only difference is the office of Jesus – only He is the King, only He is the Saviour, only He is the Christ. However, He has made you, by rights, just like Him. You are a ‘New Creation’ in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:17). You are born of the same Blood, you are born of the same Family, seated in the same Place (Eph. 2:6) and drawing from the same Source (tap-root). And you are called by the Father to do as Jesus did bearing in likeness the ‘image’ of His Son (2 Cor. 3:18).

Jesus even said that it is better that He goes (John 16:7) so that you might fulfil the full Purpose of God through the Spirit of God gifted you. Making you like Him in heritage, in faith, in nature, in deeds, and in communion in the Father. Jesus on earth lived in the ‘closest relationship with the Father’ (John 1:18 NIV). This same gift has been gifted you, and through the intimacy developed in the Presence of God, you are able to grow in the ‘deepest of relationship’ with the Father, just as Jesus, and come and make the Father ‘known’ in your world. For as ‘Christ is, so are you in the world’ (1 John 4:17). You are able to live in the deepest and the ‘intimate Presence of the Father’ and make Him known through the Father rising up in you (John 1:18 AMPC). Just as in the life of our Lord and our Saviour, Christ Jesus; He who went before us and made the way.

It doesn’t matter where you are, what time it is or what is happening in your life, you are able to be with Jesus and spend time with Him. You know in the time of the Gospels people went miles into the wilderness to spend time with Jesus (Matt. 14:13‐21, Luke 9:10‐17). To sit at His feet, to hear His voice (John 10:27), and ‘to be with Him’ (Mark 3:14, John 17:24). It is what Jesus personally gives you when you spend time with Him, that is most valuable.

Keep a watchful eye for the Lord (Hab. 2:1-2): spend time with Jesus in the private place (Matt. 6:6), in praise, in meditating on His Word, and with a heart of waiting upon Him (Luke 12:37, Is. 40:31 NKJV). Expressing honest longing and yearning for Him to visit, whenever and however He wishes. Being content just to wait for Him to come visit you again, sharing (Luke 12:37), manifesting, and revealing of Himself to you once more (John 14:21). That you might be able to think and see, walk and talk, do and say even as Jesus. Even to His ‘full’ image and stature, for the building up of the Body of Christ (Eph. 4:12-13 ESV).

Christ Jesus, as the ‘first Christian’, forged the way for you and I. He died for one primary reason to produce many seeds of Life, just like Himself (John 12:24), that you too may bear the likeness of Christ Jesus in heritage, nature and deed (2 Cor. 3:18, Col. 3:9-10 GNB). Jesus is the first Seed (Rom. 8:29) of many brethren, and in this world, by the Blood of the Cross, you have the same capacity to live in the fullness of the Holy Ghost as He. For ‘as Jesus is so are you in the world’ (1 John 4:16-17 AMPC). Let no demon or ‘angel of light’ (2 Cor. 11:14) steal this reality away from you.

What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. [Isa. 64:4; 65:17.] Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. (1 Cor. 2:9-10 AMPC)

The Freedom of Christ Jesus brings a sensitivity to the Spirit of God and to the Voice of God that is so precious and crucial in your walk. When you become ‘pregnant’ with God you truly deliver God! To enter the Rest of the Lord is not an idle thing, a life of inactivity or fruitlessness. No, it is entirely the opposite. It is both liberating and very powerful (Is. 64:1-4 AMPC). To enter the Rest of the Lord is to have your life greatly uplifted, enriched by the Love and Presence of the Father rising deeply from within you. A ‘pregnancy’ giving birth to the Goodness of God. Entering a freedom of soul that is not of this world, but is totally foreign and indescribable. And this freedom ushers in such a rich sensitivity to the Holy Ghost and an unlimited capacity to draw from Him. With a deep awareness of the Voice of God speaking into the secret places of your soul, you live life constantly renewed.

It’s one thing setting your love towards the Lord, it is another thing altogether experiencing the Love of God physically being outpoured upon your life. His Love rising tangibly like a Spring from the deep wells of your soul. It is one thing investing in praise unto the Lord, but another thing altogether being overwhelmed by the Spirit of God bubbling up praise from deep within your soul. It’s one thing becoming aware that you are seated with Christ in the Heavenly Realms, but it is another thing altogether when this becomes a reality for you here and now; in the way you think, feel, walk, and experience. That regardless of the circumstances of life, you walk and talk from the perspective of where you are now seated.

As you experience for yourself the Fruits of the Spirit rising within your own soul, you also begin to experience a greater confidence; the Faith and Boldness OF (Gal. 3:22 KJV) Christ Jesus. Spending time conscious in your spirit unto the Lord, you find yourself under the influence of the Holy Ghost. Spending time seeking the Presence of God, you find yourself overwhelmed and carried along by the Spirit of God (2 Pet. 1:21).

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath. (Acts 2:17-20 NKJV)

Pray this prayer with me. ‘Lord, please raise me to become deeply sensitive and acutely aware of your Presence upon my life. I know this right is mine, for as Jesus is so am I in the world. Lord, please guide me in the Secret Place. Lord, as I turn aside from life and seek your Face, please come. I offer this invitation for you to visit me afresh and anew each day, as the root drive of my heart and soul. In Jesus Name. Amen’.
